1955 Chevy 210 Sedan -- Article by Lori Nolan

I bought my 1955 Chevy 210 Sedan from Rose Vella in February 1998. Rose bought it in 1980 and drove it to Case Grande High School.

After getting acquainted with the Muncie 4 speed and learning how to "chirp" the gears, I quickly became a hotrodess adrenaline junky.

Every November I take the car out for one last drive before disconnecting the battery for the winter months. By February, I am chomping at the bit, waiting for the good weather and the first club "cruise in" of the season.

I love the soft curved lines that outline the 55 Chevy's. Under the hood, I have a 350 Corvette engine bored out 30 over with a Fireball Cam, Holly Carb with 202 Heads, and more. The engine area is not show material, but she is fast so that is good enough for me.

1955 Chevy 2 Door Hardtop -- Article by Rose Vella

This story starts in February of 1998. I was recovering from an operation and spending a lot of time reading car magazines while I was healing. The mail came and in it was the current "Classic Chevy International" issue. YIPPEE!! I read it from cover to cover.

In the CCI magazine, they have articles about "members rides" and "for sale by members" There it was. My Black 55 Chevy two door Hardtop!

Lori was interested in buying my Yellow '55 210 Sedan. I thought if I play my cards right - we can have 2 double nickels in the garage. So I called on the '55 2 door hardtop. The car was in Chicago. Between Dan (the last owner) & I, we called each other and sent photos back and forth until I was satisfied with the results of viewing the car while not actually seeing it in person.

We made the deal and I had the car shipped out "site unseen" to my front door. It arrived on TAX DAY April 15th, 1998.

I have made several changes to the car since I have owned it. I know I can easily dump much more $$$ into it, but for now, I just want to enjoy it and drive it. Later on when I make the big bucks - I will upgrade it.
